Please find the requirement below and let me know your interest.. *POSITION* *Hadoop Admin* *NYC, NY (LOCALS ONLY)* *6 months +* *Phone & In-person* *$55-60/hr* CLIENT :: *Guardian* *Job Description* Individual in this position will provide administration and support of multiple HADOOP systems for a variety of mission-critical custom and packaged software applications. Should have strong time management skills and ability to pick up new concepts in a rapidly growing and evolving technology and business. *Key Responsibilities* • Provide Administration support for Apache Hadoop distributions (such as MapR, PivotalHD, Cloudera, Hortonworks) • Infrastructure setup, Hadoop software installation, configuration, upgrading/patching, monitoring, tuning/optimizing, troubleshooting and maintenance • Strategize, design and create backup and DR policies for MPP and Hadoop systems • Actively participate in all phases of project development life cycle including policies, procedures, standards and supporting documentation, process flow analysis, development, benchmark analysis, performance/tuning, capacity planning and production implementation • Work with software development teams to install components (Hive, Pig, etc.) and manage MapReduce jobs • Engage in short and long-term capacity planning in collaboration with development resources, system administrators and system architects while analyzing current usage • Continually monitor industry developments in the Big Data area, share knowledge and provide recommendations to the organization on how to best leverage tools • Production support responsibilities include maximizing system availability, ensuring swift and complete database recovery, optimizing database availability through ongoing maintenance, and ensuring conformance to audit and operating standards • Participate in the evaluation, and recommendation of appropriate hardware and software resources Required experiences: • 5 + years in the Information Technology profession • 1 + year working with MPP and/or Hadoop systems • 3 + years of UNIX administration • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Broad knowledge of relational database technologies • Ability to pick up new technologies and concepts in a rapidly growing and evolving business *Preferred experiences: * • Cloudera, Greenplum, Hortonworks, MapR, Netezza, PivotHD, PostgreSQL, Teradata, and/or Vertica • Hadoop administration • MapR/Pivotal HD/Cloudera/Hortonworks (Hadoop Administration ) • Greenplum/PostreSQL/Teradata/Vertica (MPP Appliance Administration) • EMC Data Domain *Thanks and Regards,* *Shilpi Bist || Technical Recruiter* <http://www.sageci.com/> email: [email protected] Phone: 732-851-1596/ 732-767-0010 Ext: 542 Gtalk: shilpi.recruiter1|| Yahoo: shilpi.recruiter <http://www.linkedin.com/pub/shilpi-bist/82/944/7a7/> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Open Source Erp & Crm" group.
