Java Architect / Technical Lead 6 + months Glendale, CA Primary Responsibilities: Lead technical development teams for design and development of employee portal and customer websites. Cloud and mobile application lead experience will be a plus. Evaluate, recommend and introduce new technologies in support of company products and scenarios. Advise senior management and negotiate requirements with vendors. Build or extend web-based applications that leverage Google Infrastructure and APIs Collaborate with business stakeholders, 3rd party partners and Google to enhance the Google experience for Client. Manage the operations of outsourced vendors and Enterprise Web Development team. Drive the development and implementation of applications on the Google cloud platform to solve complex business problems. Assess and develop high level design for project and communicate in writing and in meetings with business and development teams. Assess detailed specifications against design requirements and develop design documents and SDLC related artifacts. Participate in project planning and execution. Facilitate the progress and movement of application code through various phases of application development. Develop technical procedures to adhere to business processes Provide guidance and technical support to applications deployed in production. Assist in the evaluation and proof of concept of new technology solutions.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Excellent communication skills. Application development experience within the UNIX and/or Windows environments. Strong programming skills with Java and frameworks such as Spring, Struts. Understanding of client side scripting using Javascript, JQuery, HTML5 4 years of development experience using Java, Python, or C++. 3+ years in responsive web design, supported browsers such as IE 6+, Mozilla, Safari, Chrome and devices such as iPad and iPhone. 2+ years practical experience working with SQL and relational databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc. 3+ years in cross-functional project team interaction. 3+ years leading development teams using Agile or SDLC process Experience in WCM, DAM, CRXDE Lite, Java, JSP, JSTL, Servlet, WCF, Web services, JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS Preferred qualifications: 2+ years of experience in Google Apps for Business (both technical and functional) Experience with Google App Engine, CloudSQL and building cloud based enterprise applications. Experience with Adobe CQ5/Adobe Experience Manager. Experience and solid understanding of various search technologies (concepts as well as implementation) Experience in or solid understanding of Mobility - Mobile Device Management, Mobile Application Management Experience in or solid understanding of Video Conferencing technologies, capabilities and challenges. 4+ years of technical background in web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, XML. Web Applications - SDLC, Cloud based web application development concepts and principles, SAAS integration for an enterprise, web content management Knowledge and experience building and using diverse RESTful web services Knowledge and experience using Web and application servers in distributed high availability systems Proven ability to adapt your message to the technical level of the audience.
