*Interview mode: Phone then SkypeJob Description:* The successful candidate will work as part of team working closely with functional end users and applications team to support implemented Oracle BI and OTM Application, Development Tools, and 3rd party solutions. The primary responsibilities of this position are to ensure the availability, reliability and maintenance of critical business applications and their underlying servers and databases. *The primary area of responsibility for this role will be Oracle database administration, including but not limited to: • Monitor and troubleshoot Oracle and Application Servers and associated jobs and processes. • Monitor performance of Oracle Servers using various performance tools.* • Ensure problems and error conditions are promptly and appropriately addressed. • Establish and maintain Configuration and Recovery documentation for designated systems. • Plan and implement Database migrations, Oracle and OTM application upgrades, and Hardware implementations. • Deploy Oracle procedure changes or scripts as needed to various environments. • Manage Oracle and application access and permissions for various environments. • Assist Development teams with Oracle and application server problem resolution. • Research and resolve Oracle and application server issues as required. • Provide 24*7 on-call support. • Perform other related duties as required. *Core Job Description:Database Administrator (DBA) - Oracle, Oracle BI and Oracle Transportations Management* Principal Responsibilities: • Administer Databases with and understanding of clustering and high availability architectures. • Monitoring and tune performance to provide fast query responses to end users. • Analyze data organization and front end accessibility for peak utilization and data security. • Refining physical designs to meet system load requirements for CPU, memory, I/O. • Writing and maintaining database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary. • Controlling access permissions and privileges. • Developing, managing, and testing backup and recovery plans. • Ensuring that storage, archiving, back-up, and recovery procedures are functioning correctly. • Running diagnostics and maintaining operation logs and documentation. • Providing on-call support as needed. • Working as a member of the technology team to assist in providing maximum availability and support of information technology systems. • All other duties as assigned. *Job Requirements:• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science; two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.• Must have knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Exchange, Oracle Database Administration tools, SQL Plus. • Must have experience with Linux and Windows server platforms and experience scripting in Korn Shell and/or Perl.* • Experience installing, configuring, patching, and upgrading Oracle Database products • Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery solutions including administering Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard • Positive Attitude and Energy – Exhibits an upbeat attitude, a genuine interest in others and a sense of humor.
