My immediate priority is to find someone who can take the existing
reporting to the next level. This person should have very good technical
skills (SAS, SQL and Excel VBA), know the latest tools in reporting
(Tableau, microstrategy etc), latest technologies (Hadoop) and proven
experience in stakeholder management and project management. The ultimate
goal of the project is to create action based reporting, provide drill down
capability to the reports for the stakeholders and to provide interval
reporting on real time operations performance. It will be great if we could
get someone who has previously worked at Capital one as they are well ahead
of the rest of the banks in terms of reporting.

I did review the resume but as I told you earlier I am looking for someone
who has solid operational analytics experience (5-8 years) and has a MS/MBA
from US and has a blend of technical and business skills and has experience
leading cross functional teams. I am inclined towards hiring someone who
has worked in financial services in an operational setting.

Though the resume is impressive, she does not have operational analytics
background and I need someone who can hit the ground running as soon as
they are hired.

Overall Job Purpose

MIS Analysis lead will support operations in the implementation of
cutting-edge business intelligence and creation of best-in-class analytical
solutions to improve operational effectiveness. He/ She would identify and
work on high-impact business challenges through the use of data,
collaborate with the business stakeholders and lead cross functional teams
to launch, lead and execute projects to completion. The MIS Analysis lead
will be expected to act in a lead or mentor role to other analysts and
within the department.

Key Job Accountabilities

Leveraging financial, operational, and customer data, identifies
performance measures and drivers, performance benchmarks, and appropriate
(corrective) actions Work in a fast paced environment managing multiple
deadlines and processes Actively contribute to reshape processes and
strategies, as needed Ensure team execution of detailed daily, weekly, and
monthly reports on performance of the department Ensure execution, control
and drive continued improvement of reporting process Interact with other
departments to determine appropriate metrics and assess trends versus
forecasts and business strategy Work to integrate reporting from various
systems to develop unified, comprehensive view of the business operations
Work closely with system programmers to generate new reporting tools or
modify current work products to optimize capabilities and improve
efficiency Interface with technology and the business to perform analysis
and design of data architecture, ETL, and the facilitation of Business
Intelligence solutions.

Authority for decision making with system changes and projects across the
division and in conjunction with other business units. Communication with
key business partners and Sr. Management to articulate findings, issues and
solutions Works with counterparts throughout the global organization and
works to share best practices across the entire footprint Responsible for
growth and development of team of MI analysts Maintains appropriate risk
and controls for area of responsibility

Basic Qualifications

BS/BA degree in Engineering, Sciences, Finance, Economics or other
quantitatively focused subject MA/MBA with 5+ years or 7+ years of relevant
work experience Demonstrated analytical skills and experience with data
analysis tools – ability to link operational performance with company
business results Excellent written and verbal communication and
presentation skills Energy and enthusiasm to drive towards results Ability
to manage and prioritize time and projects Strong team player with great
networking skills Proven track record of delivering appropriate depth of
analysis in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with contact center
metrics and analysis Strong PC skills, SAS/SQL Exhibits Barclays core
competencies: respect, integrity, service, excellence, stewardship

Preferred Qualifications

Proven performance in a similar field and scope of responsibility MS/ MBA
preferred Prior experience working in operations Analytics in a banking
environment Micro-Strategy/Tableau expertise/ Hadoop
