*Location: St Louis MO (STRICTLY LOCALS)
Duration: 12 + Months*

Act as a member of ITS Engineering team as a Senior UNIX / Linux
Administrator.   The scope of this role includes designing, implementing and
administering high performance computing cluster, performing proof of
concepts on parallel file system (*GPFS, IBRIX, Luster)* and implementing
solution that meets business requirements. This position requires a high
degree of teamwork.  Ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude,
ability to work closely with scientists on tuning their code on compute farm
and strong background in *HPC. * They will need to be an energetic, self
motivated individual who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
Candidate should be fully versed in Linux flavors, Grid Engine or other *HPC
* clusters as well as interconnects such as Infiniband.

Skills:
* *A minimum of 5 years experience in a large scale HPC/Scientific
administration environment. *
* Experience in supporting 500+ cpu cluster with Sun Grid Engine or other
HPC cluster along with parallel file systems such as GPFS, Lustre and
interconnects is desired.
* Experience in solving the performance and scalability issues involving
Clustered file systems, Hierarchical Storage Systems and IO interconnects
such as Infiniband.
* Understanding of mathematical libraries and various algorithms.
* Should have experience on application profiling, debugging and performance
tuning on large scale HPC applications.


Roles & Responsibilities:
* Understanding the current HPC infrastructure including file system and
storage sub systems.
* Design and implement next generation compute cluster that can analyze
biotech sequencing data.

* Work with scientists to tune code to optimize in next generation HPC
cluster.
* Understanding the business and technical drivers for the current
infrastructure selection and current issues/concerns.
* Deployment of file system and storage solution on emerging multi-core HPC
infrastructure.
* Understanding the HPC performance bottlenecks and implementing the
performance improvements.

* Will need to participate in on call rotation. Must be willing to carry
on-call pager/cell-phone during rotation.
