Location: Chicago. Maintains the company's AIX System Operations and Backup/BCP environments. This person should have expert skills in AIX and the aptitude, initiative, and desire to assist other engineers in needed areas. Experience with AIX clustering and DB2 is a plus. This person will also assume architectural responsibilities in assisting management with strategic planning efforts for these systems. This position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, along with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience with focus in architecting and implementing AIX and a technical degree or equivalent in UNIX certification. Preferred Experience and Skills * 10 years experience in UNIX Systems Administration required * Set up and managing AIX and IBM Pseries Hardware * Server set up with DR tools and documentation maintenance * Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills * Ability to work independently with initiative * Strong interpersonal skills/team player * Excellent understanding of networking principles; TCP/IP, UDP, Routing, DNS. * Good understanding of Storage and related Products; IBM DS series, EMC, and NetApp * Strong Korn Shell scripting ability * Proven leadership skills and knowledge of automating enterprise deployments * Experience with monitoring the environments and providing trending and utilization reports * TSM setup, configuration, and administration at an enterprise level * Experience and knowledge with DB2.
