The Software Specialist/s will serve as software designers, programmers and teacher-coaches throughout the re-design and re-programming of each application. Initial estimates indicate four contract Programmer-Analysts are needed to finish the work before the June 30, 2011 end-of-biennium deadline. The contractors will work in parallel on parts of the application migration, but need to be consistent in their approach, recommendations and mentoring of client's IS staff. The Application Lead (AL) and the contractor are to work together throughout design and programming, with the AL doing 25% of the work, applying 25% of their work-week to the project, and the contractor doing 75% of the work. Skills Designing, building and testing 3-tier client server and web-based applications that execute on load-balanced servers under the Windows Server/2000/Vista operating environment. Creating, executing and reporting on unit tests based on Functional Specifications Troubleshooting and correcting defects in VB.net and ASP.net applications. a.. VB.Net 2.0 and ASP.Net b.. JavaScript c.. .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5 d.. Visual Basic 6.0 e.. SQL 2000/2005, including development of stored procedures f.. Visual Studio 2005/2008 g.. XML and XSLT h.. Web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, CSS i.. Web services using WCF j.. Team Foundation Server code check-in, check-out and Branching and Merging k.. Windows 2000/Vista desktop l.. MS Office 2007 One or more years experience: a.. Effectively applying web services within the Windows Communication Framework (WCF) to applications of moderate size and complexity. Other Mandatory Qualifications and Experience a.. Verifiable history of taking ownership for communicating issues and ideas that lead to on-time completion of work. b.. Prior experience performing communication path development c.. Prior experience of working from technical specifications documentation and writing deployment/implementation scripts. d.. Demonstrated ability to communicate well in written and oral form within various project team environments containing business and technical representatives. e..
