 Scope and Purpose:
 
 Equity Derivative IT is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of
 technology solutions to the Equity Derivatives Trading business. The
 business has enjoys strong revenues through organic growth; further
 opportunities exist based on expansion of client activity, investment in IT
 architecture and RBS integration.
 
 In order to improve identification and delivery of technology requirements,
 a Change Management function is being formed within Equity Derivatives IT,
 made up of project managers and business analysts. This small team will take
 on full project ownership (from initiation to completion) for all
 primarily-IT initiatives and contribute business analysis (requirements
 definition, design, testing, training and implementation support). This will
 include a number of strategic projects demanding business transformation,
 covering all regions and trading applications, as well as smaller-scale
 incremental change.
 
 The requirements of each project will determine the assignment of people,
 with the group therefore needing a range of the following:
 *       Project management versus business analysis skills.
 *       Deep equity derivatives -specific knowledge versus broad
 understanding of products and asset classes.
 *       Business versus technical attitude, knowledge and experience.
 
 Organisationally, there will not be a strict demarcation of roles between
 project managers and business analysts; it is a requirement that project
 managers have business analysis skills and vice versa. However, it is
 recognised that each candidate's primary skill likely lies with one or the
 other, and for this reason the two roles have been assigned separate
 specifications.
 
 Main responsibilities and deliverables:
 
 Requirements definition
 *       Current state, gap analysis and future state definition (IT
 applications, interfaces, data, etc; business process and people and
 organisational considerations).
 *       Business requirements gathering, validation and enrichment and
 agreement.
 *       Functional requirements definition and agreement.
 
 Solution design
 *       Working with IT development team(s) to agree high level design and
 iterate functional and business requirements.
 *       Prototyping as required and delivery of interim, tactical IT
 solutions.
 
 Testing
 *       Definition of testing strategy, scripts, automated testing
 requirements.
 *       System testing support.
 *       Execution of testing and support for user acceptance testing.
 *       Regression testing.
 
 Operational readiness
 *       Training.
 *       Business process definition.
 *       Data clean up (including reference data).
 
 Implementation
 *       Implementation planning.
 *       Execution of post-implementation checks.
 *       Post-implementation user and IT support.
 
 Secondary responsibility - project management
 
 *       Project definition.
 *       Co-ordination of project contributors, including trading staff, IT
 development team(s), operations, risk management, finance.
 *       Project working group management and IT Steering Committee
 reporting.
 *       Progress and cost tracking and reporting.
 *       Risk and issue identification and resolution or escalation.
 
 Primary relationships:
 
 Equity Derivative change managers.
 Equity Derivative developers.
 Regional / product-owning trading heads and traders.
 Equity Derivative business development managers.
 Operations, finance, risk management teams.
 
 Qualifications, knowledge and experience:
 
 Broad knowledge of traded products and asset classes, with clear
 understanding of trading, risk management, financial, operational and
 regulatory considerations. Detailed understanding of equity derivative
 products required, preferably including:
 *       Listed Bonds
 *       ETFs.
 *       Listed Options
 *       Equity Linked Notes.
 *       Convertible Bonds
 
 Experience of defining appropriate business and functional requirements,
 achieving meaningful agreement and iterating through the process of solution
 design.
 Understanding of project management processes and practice.
 Experience of software delivery (in-house,  with some third parties, both
 internal and external vendors; experience of agile software development
 practices preferred).
 Experience of tactical IT delivery.
 Experience of testing planning, performance and co-ordination and support.
 
 Competencies:
 
 Technical understanding and skills to a level sufficient to enable
 engagement in software design.
 Motivated self starter, able to proactively manage change: drive tasks and
 issues to resolution; identify risks and manage or escalate accordingly; go
 beyond stated requirements to add value.
 Good interpersonal skills, able to work with trading and technical staff
 from junior to business-leading senior levels.
 Good communication skills (written and verbal).
 Free thinking individual demonstrating leadership and innovation, allied to
 a rigorous approach
