Title : SAP Project Implementation Mgr/Spec *Location : South Carolina Duration : 1 Month* Additional Skills: Knowledge of Business Objects installation, configuration and applications development. SCOPE OF PROJECT Background and Summary: The S.C. Dept. of Natural Resources operates the Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition relational database management system on a Dell Linux platform in a Real Application Cluster (RAC) environment for its primary scientific data management. In 2005, DNR initiated a program to migrate its administrative data including hunting and fishing licenses, boat title and registration data, law enforcement violations and other data and applications from a Unisys mainframe environment to Oracle. In addition, numerous PC-based and hardcopy (paper-based) applications are being integrated into the agency Oracle environment involving a comprehensive data schema. The primary development framework has been Oracle PL/SQL with some Java-based web access and reporting tools. In 2009, the DNR purchased the Business Objects software suite (as defined below) to provide data query and report generation tools to access agency licensing, titling, law enforcement and scientific data. Purchase of the software was permitted on the State of South Carolina SAP State Term Contract, however, contractual services to install and configure the system and software administration training was not included in the contract. As a result, the DNR seeks to establish a short-term contract (not to exceed three weeks) for the installation and configuration of the Business Object software into the agency’s architecture in accordance with the requirements below. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: In general, the SC Dept. of Natural Resources is looking to establish a contractual services agreement for the installation and configuration of the Business Objects software suite to operate on the agency’s computer architecture. The licensed Business Objects software includes the SAP Business Objects BI Package for Business Information and Analysis Solutions for 2 CPUs running in a virtual environment, the Business Suite, Business Information User licenses for 200 named users and the Business Suite,Expert User for 10 named users. Phase 2 – Analysis and Design During the Analysis and Design phase, the vendor will expand on the roadmap as needed, and then verify the deployment approach. During this phase the vendor minimally will determine user access and functionality and design the reports and dashboards. Phase 3 – Development and Implementation During the Development phase, the vendor minimally will install and configure the software and work with the DNR Technology Development Program staff to develop content and test the system configuration. Phase 4 – Deployment/Go-Live During the Deployment phase, the vendor will work with the SC DNR to deploy the system to the user community and will provide system administration and user training to Technology Development staff (and possibly to selected users) in order for the Technology Development Program to provide long-term support for the Business Objects implementation. Phase 5 – Post-deployment Support For a minimum of 90 days past the go-live date and project close out, the vendor will provide technical support for the Business Objects implementation. Technical support will include same-day telephone response with remote log-in and diagnostic access to the system as appropriate. SKILLS REQUIRED The successful company to provide these services must: Extensive knowledge and experience in the installation and configuration of Business Objects in a virtual computing environment Extensive knowledge and experience integrating Business Objects with the Oracle Relational Data Base Management System, Version11g .Knowledge of and experience with Business Objects optimization strategies; system integrity and monitoring/auditing activities; and backup, archival and disaster recovery procedures. Knowledge of and experience with software systems design and integration technologies including methods and strategies for enterprise systems development, operation and maintenance. Experience in training Business Objects users and system administration personnel.
