Title : Lead Performance Engineer Location : Reston, VA,(Only Local Considered) Duration : 12 months ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Design and run extensive load, scalability, stability, and stress tests using industry standard benchmarks and tools as well as custom developed software Work with Development and Support to reproduce customer performance problems Analyze test results and write capacity planning / customer best practice guides Automate test scenarios using various performance testing tools Extend stress test, verification, application simulation tests in Java, J2EE, C#, .NET Review automation designs and test results from other engineers Specify hardware for labs required for testing Establish / maintain consistent automation standards and designs as well as performance data representation and sizing guides Strategize mechanisms to improve team efficiency and research new technologies Mentor team members and external teams on Performance concepts and methodologies Implement reference standard test beds and automation for Engineering Provide Technical Leadership and strategic direction to the Performance Team Analyze current processes, methodologies, practices and suggest/ drive improvements. Pro-actively seeks to make continuous improvements to Performance Test coverage, execution and automation • Maintain an active calendar of stress environment consumers and work with stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met. • Coordinate and assist the deployment of applications into the stress environment. • Provide an interface and coordination point between BT’s different units • Collect all test artifacts and store those artifacts in the project repository. • Work with the other members of the BT team to execute the test cases. • Implement assigned portions of the stress/performance testing • In concert with QA manger establish and enforce stress environment policies and procedures. PRINCIPAL RELATIONSHIPS Internal Contacts: Maintain regular communication with IT management and staff in relation to the stress testing processes. Works with key IT stakeholders and business users for program implementation and information collection and dissemination Maintains close contact with stress environment consumers. Work with partners, customers or other third party contractors on items related to stress testing MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education/ Experience: • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS is preferred • Minimum of 10 + years of experience in Java and or C++ programming and automated testing tools and methodologies. Related Skills & Other Requirements: Experienced with Linux system administration 6+ years of experience in managing stress/performance testing environments 10+ Years experience in IT with a broad range of exposure to all aspects of operational, stress and performance evaluations, systems analysis, and system engineering. Possess a working knowledge of architectural frameworks and methodologies. Possess a broad knowledge of operating systems and software Development tools. Experience with the Webload testing tool (required)!!!!
