* *Sybase Developer* *Location - NYC, NY* *6 Months+* * * * * *Roles and Responsibilities * *- The candidate will be a confirmed developer in designing and coding in TSQL in Sybase and will be heavily involved in a global system for a major private bank. * *- The role will include reverse engineering, optimizing and improving existing processes running on Sybase data servers, heavy coding following internal quality and performance standards. * *- He or she will be in charge of programming the application as well as supervising/handing off/reviewing work delegated to our off-shore development center. * *- The candidate will work within an agile team following XP and Scrum principles. Pair programming, peer review and active teamwork are encouraged so the candidate must be able to integrate within an existing team and have strong communication skills. * * * *General Skills * * * *- Good written and spoken technical English * *- Ability to follow functional and technical specifications documents * *- Ability to integrate a team and adapt to organization in place * * * *Required Technical Skills * *- Sybase Transact-SQL expertise: proven experience in coding, designing and optimizing stored procedures on large database servers.
