*Role: Senior Java Software Developer Location: Washington DC Contract Duration: 6+ Months

Senior Software Developer, System Development to provide support for a series of FEP initiatives for the remainder of 2011 and into 2012. Job responsibilities would include: 1. Conduct deep technical analysis of current application design, review system documentation, and participate in application code reviews with current development team. 2. Participate in Business Requirements reviews and work with systems analysts to fully document application changes required. 3. Enhance the FEP Local system to a multi-tenant Software as a Service (SaaS) application capable of processing claims for other Blues Plans. 4. Develop a standard ETL processes for multiple Plan data. 5. Provide Java expertise and best practices for current and future state technology roadmap. 6. Collaborate effectively with team members, business and executive sponsors across all functional areas, including external BCBS Plan technical and business teams. 7. Additional technical duties as assigned. Projected Level of Effort: 1. 40 hr/wk from November 2011 through April 2012 with possible follow-on work. Demonstrated experience with Agile SDLC and test driven development 6. Experience with high-volume transaction systems, web services, and GUI development (Apache Wicket, Struts, Hibernate) 7.
