Position: Software Quality Assurance Tester Location: Beaverton, OR Duration: 6 Months Start: ASAP
Rate: $Open/hr REQUIRED SKILLS: Software Quality Assurance Tester Software quality processes Waterfall or Lean/Agile software development lifecycle Manual testing web-based applications Familiar with J2EE, HTML, Javascript and/or other web technologies Testing batch programs Unix Backend testing Oracle SQL queries HP Quality Center Test script management Defect tracking PREFERRED SKILLS: QA test automation tools/framework ( Selenium, FitNesse, Robot) Scripting languages Retail industry experience Supply chain domain knowledge (specifically Trade and Customs) OVERVIEW Working with the agile delivery team for the client application, participating in the early design discussions and daily scrum meetings, defining the test scope, authoring test scripts, collecting and maintaining test data, performing tests, defect tracking and does all this by following the best QA practices and ensuring that the end product adheres to the quality standards. REQUIRED Experience implementing and enforcing software quality process and standards in a Waterfall or Lean/Agile software development lifecycle. Experience manual testing web-based applications and familiar with J2EE, HTML, Javascript and other web technologies. Experience testing batch programs and working knowledge in Unix. Experience doing backend testing preferably in Oracle and expert knowledge using SQL queries. Experience using HP Quality Center for test script management and defect tracking. Good understanding of the Agile principles. Quick learner with strong analysis skills and a curiosity for understanding the business and data. Very good written and verbal communication skills PREFERRED Experience with QA test automation tools/framework like Selenium, FitNesse, Robot. Scripting language like Perl, Python, Ruby, etc. Experience with Agile Workflow tools (VersionOne). Experience working with people from diverse cultural background. Retail industry and supply chain domain knowledge, specifically Trade and Customs. When required, the ETW is required to work as a Business Systems Analyst or as an Application Engineer depending on where he/she could contribute. RESPONSIBILITIES The individual must be able to analyze situations and problems to determine how to resolve problems and the root cause of these problems. The individual will also be responsible for following change control procedures to plan/test/implement Infrastructure changes in coordination with business owners. This position will require an individual who is a self-starter; detail oriented, and has the ability to work with little or no supervision. Excellent verbal/written communication is a must.
