The Java architect is responsible for establishing build practices, source code control policies and leading a group of developers building SOA applications in an agile fashion. It is expected that the Java architect be hands on, developing software whilst providing guidance and mentoring the developers working on the software applications. *Principal Duties of Position:* - Work with the solution architect to understand systems holistically and where service tiers ties in to the complete platform. - Estimate workload for agile iterations. - Define and establish build policies. - Define and establish source code control policies - Create an architecture that is flexible and allows for the continual growth of the platform - Leads staff responsible for the design and development of the software applications following an agile process. - Select the right mix of new and existing technologies to facilitate the building of robust software systems · Responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and retaining high-performance software developers. · Evaluate new and emerging technologies for placement within the applications being architected considering cost, compatibility and usability. · Development of software applications utilizing Java enterprise concepts and other related tools and technologies. · Establishment of automated testing policies and procedures for the code being programmed. * * *Description of Skills Required to Perform this Job:* · Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, information systems or related disciplines or equivalent combination of education and experience. · 5+ years of Java development experience. · Familiarity with EJB, and JMS · Experience with data abstraction tools such as Ibatis, Hibernate, and JPA · Prior experience to abstraction through programming with the assistance of the Spring framework · Demonstrated architectural experience in previous grass root application development efforts. · Driven desire to excel and innovate. *Thanks & Best regards* RANI| Recruiter|Oberon IT 1300 W.
