Role: PostgreSQL DBA Location: Chicago, IL Duration: Long Term Job Description: Project Description: o PostgreSQL upgrade, migration and performance tune o Linux box upgrade o PL PHP upgrade Drivers/Objectives: o Data Center move o Some performance improvement o Backup and recovery optimization o Latency issue resolution…if possible…as Dir IT believes it is due mostly to schema. o Everything runs off this DB so if this goes down, literally, the entire company sits still. (New revenue impact, cost of resource downtime for over 100 employees, customer service/help desk unable to function). Postgres DB o Postgres version 8.3 o Linux box (old version) o 7-10 million contracts o 500+ tables o 100+ PL PHP functions (stored procs) o Synching not optimally configured o Mission critical to all facets of their business Job Responsibilities will include: o Postgres v8.3 to v9.1 migration (latest version) o Linux upgrade to latest version. Current version is quite old…Fedora. o Move to latest PL PHP Thanks
