Network Engineer
Location:San Fran downtown
Duration: 36 month contract

MUST HAVE CCNP CERTIFICATION

Need great communication skills – big emphasis on the personality
Must be likable….. down town san Fran
Attached is a request for a Network Engineer for the State of CA
Administrative Office of the Court (AOC). There is some urgency to find
someone as the AOC has begun their technical refresh cycle this month. They
are

upgrading the versions of all their installed Cisco products
My experience with the AOC is that personality is an equally important as
being knowledgeable engineer. The candidate will work extremely close
with the Department Manager. The AOC has a literal meaning of the term

“Team player” The AOC Network team is a close knit group. They play
basketball together once a week and usually go to happy hour together once
a week as well. They also have a golf tournament so they are looking for

someone who can become “one of the boys.”
The position will be for one year with the client’s option to extend it one
or two additional years. We have done a lot of work over the past 4 years
at the AOC; I have had 3 engineers work there in the past – the projects
have

completed. Two were C2C and one was a core hire who is still with VIP.
Some travel in California should be expected – mostly to San Diego and
LA/Orange County.
The work place is at Civic Center in downtown San Francisco. It is a
relatively easy commute from the surrounding communities (East Bay,
Peninsula and Marin County) by public transportation
Bottom line: CCIE is preferred but NOT required. MUST HAVE at least a CCNP
though.
We are only going to get about 48 hours on this before they open it up to
the world…
Cisco Certified Network design expert in routing and switching design;
knowledge of networking and network security standards. Candidate will
review network design and routing specifications and firewall rules for the
AOC’s

technical refresh project which will upgrade e and standardize equipment in
100+ locations throughout California. Must be able to assist in trouble
shooting network issues
CCNP-Routing and Switching 5-7 years of experience working with Cisco
networks including Cisco Routers, Cisco Catalyst Switches, PIX Firewalls,
Sonicwall firewall, CheckPoint firewall, Cisco Secure IDS, Cache Engin

EXPERIENCE:
Cisco Access Path, AS5200, AS5300, , Voice gateways / IP Telephony, Cisco
Aironet wireless bridges.
Experience working with networks including MPLS, ATM, Frame-Relay, ISDN,
DSL, T1, DS3, OC3
Working knowledge of Cisco Switches, routers, Cisco IOS, LAN, WLAN and
WAN, EIGRP, OSPF, eBGP, IPv4, IPv6, Layer 2, Layer 3, QoS, STP, MPLS,
Multicast, HSRP, VRRP, NTP, DHCP; advanced IP addressing and

routing, configuration of secure routing solutions
Desired/Preferred Skills: CCIE-Routing and Switching; should have passed
the Cisco Routing and Switching Exam.
Education Requirements: Degree in computer science, electrical engineering
or other technical field a plus, but equivalent experience in lieu of
degree acceptable
