 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study
 Experience in developing MicroStrategy reports and dashboards for large
enterprises and/or very large user populations
 Experience with recent versions of MicroStrategy; version 9.0 or higher
required, some experience with version 9.3 is preferred
 Experience creating reusable MicroStrategy objects including reports,
filters, prompts, metrics, custom groups, and consolidations
 Experience in developing components, peer review, creating unit test
plans, and performing unit testing
 Experience with MicroStrategy Report Services features, including creating
PDF documents (reports, scorecards, etc.) and web-based interactive dashboa

 Experience with MicroStrategy schema/architecture objects including
attributes, facts, transformations, logical tables, and security filters.

 Experience with MicroStrategy OLAP Services features including creating
Intelligent Cubes (consumed by many reports and thousands of end users) and
da
 MicroStrategy experience where Oracle is the database
 Experience with MicroStrategy Mobile
 Experience creating MicroStrategy visualizations using maps (e.g. color
coding each county in Ohio based on a metric)
 Experience working with ETL developers to define data mapping documents
and troubleshoot unexpected results in reports or the data
 Understanding of relational databases and strong SQL skills, enabling
report troubleshooting by analyzing MicroStrategy generated SQL
 Experience and knowledge of data warehouse modeling and
 Strong analytical, strategic planning, and quantitative skills
 Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the
ability to express complex ideas in non-technical terms
 Ability to assume ownership of specific functions and products while
leading and managing multiple tasks
 Demonstrated ability to work well independently, as well as partner with
others as a team
 Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, and/or statistics

The Product Specialist is the expert for a technical development or
execution environment product or set of products. The primary
responsibility of a Product Specialist is to ensure the availability and
facilitate the productive use of a product for Application Teams or end
users.  The Product Specialist may own part of a product, all of one, or
several products depending on the nature of the product(s) and their use.
The Product Specialist requires significant to expert experience and skills
in the product supported.  The Product Specialist will usually also have
significant experience in the operating environment(s) (e.g., HP/UX, NT,
MVS, etc.) on which the product is implemented.  If the product is one that
was internally developed, the supporting PS should also have most of the
skills of a Programmer. The Product Specialist is responsible for
collaborating with Technical Architecture Specialist, System Specialists,
Programmers and vendors to ensure and enhance the use of the product and
effect migration to new versions of a product.

Role Description:
All roles specified in PS3 plus the following:
Deliver support and design for industry specific applications that require
integration with statewide systems or applications.
Interact with executive level business users or technical experts.
May function as a niche SME.
Activities performed by this resource will include, but are not limited to
the following items:
Develop dashboards, grids, graphs, scorecards, and statistical reporting
utilizing MicroStrategy Release 9.3 version software per specified
requirements and timelines
Create and enhance MicroStrategy report objects, metrics, filters, and
prompts
Develop, execute, and document test plans for development activities.  Also
validate reporting results against requirements, troubleshoot and analyze
data issues, and track all changes.
Document designs, specifications, and flow diagrams to assist in efficient
development, support, and problem analysis.
Communicate status, problems, issues, and underlying process changes, and
ways to improve or become more efficient to management.
Train and mentor less senior team members on MicroStrategy topics related
to the project
Sound understanding of the MicroStrategy reporting tool capabilities is
required, including MicroStrategy 9.2 or higher web experience.
Experience with MicroStrategy data modeling, Intelligence Server,
MicroStrategy Web, Report Services, and OLAP Services (including
Intelligent Cubes) is required.
Education industry experience is strongly preferred.
