The project is enhancements to our existing JEE based e-commerce site to accommodate a new customer. There is no possibility of full-time work after the contract. However, the possibility for extension and/or other contracts in the near future is high ( assuming the candidate is successful ), because the new customer will likely need new development as their launch progresses. Tech Skills needed Java web application usual suspects: JEE in general, Struts, Stripes, Jsp, maven, git, jdbc, ibatis/mybatis, spring, JMS, html, css, jquery/javascript, apache libraries. There is a fair amount of front-end HTML/CSS/javascript/jquery for this project, so make sure the candidate is strong in those areas as well as Java. Candidate needs to be able to take some specifications, learn the current system, and implement the new solution while not breaking anything there, with limited guidance. Willingness to tolerate passionate developer debates about hibernate and other ‘evil technologies’, and playing cards and other silliness at lunch is also useful. Our team is small, so access to people who know the platform is very good—but communication skills are essential, because there will be a _lot_ needed on this project. We will not fill this position predominantly based on years of experience. It will be based on whether the candidate rocks, has the personality and energy level to be successful. Candidate must pass both an online Wonderlic aptitude test ( takes 12 minutes to complete online ) , and an onsite interview that includes a programming test.
