This is a development role with a strong communication requirement. The ideal candidate would have 5+ years Oracle PL/SQL experience in a high volume direct consumer application (OLTP). Candidates with MySQL or SQL*Server skill sets will not be considered. *Candidate must be willing to be on site 8am - 5pm 5 days a week.* * * *Soft Skills:* · Need to be able to work with Java developers, Data Modelers, Project Managers, Product Managers, and QA teams. · Ability to work in a matrixed environment. Self-starter who can work without a lot of supervision or direction, willing to make decisions without first checking with others. · Must be able to be productive immediately, i.e. top 25%. Lower level candidates will only hurt the project and be rejected. These need to be cream of the crop resources to help hit tight deadlines *Must Have Technical Skills/Experience:* · Proven track record developing in PL/SQL environment and very solid understanding of SQL. At least 5 years demonstrated experience. · Experience with Oracle 10g required, experience with Oracle 11g highly desired. · Experience with large volumes of data. Should have worked with detailed tables in the hundreds of millions of rows. Must have worked on a database of at least 500GB, prefer someone with experience on database of 1 TB. · Strong performance and tuning skills in an Oracle database environment *More Detailed and Desirable Technical Skills:* · Experience with Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ) highly desired. · Experience with data modeling in general and being able to read data models. · Experience as a *development* DBA would be a plus.
