The Operational Acceptance Testing administrator is responsible for the execution of operational readiness tests and procedures. SOLID Windows and Linux experience Database (Oracle or other) experience a plus Scripting experience a major plus Purpose: The Operational Acceptance Testing administrator is responsible for the execution of operational readiness tests and procedures Key Responsibilities: • Complete operational readiness tests and document results of each test • Write and deliver formal reports detailing outcome of readiness tests and make recommendations for acceptance of environment to operational teams to project teams • Work with project teams to explain test failures and re-test when corrections are made • Identify gaps in testing and communicate to management • Identify areas for improvement in procedures and communicate to management • Provide input into development of standards for new system builds and support • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request • Provide Tier II/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted groups • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities • Configure / add new services as necessary • Upgrade and configure system software that supports SITA applications per project or operational needs. • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required • Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment Education & Qualifications: • University degree or equivalent with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science • System Administrator /System Engineer Certification for Unix/Linux and Windows • Must speak English fluently/clearly • Must be a US Citizen Experience: • Four to Five years experience in an enterprise data center environment or NOC Knowledge & Skills: Demonstrates a ‘skilled’ level of knowledge and understanding for: • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) • Windows System Administration with scripting abilities • Linux/Unix System Administration with scripting abilities • VCS Cluster Control • VMWare • Weblogic 8.x, 9.x, 10.x • Tomcat • Apache 2.2.x • How to apply technical knowledge to solve business problems • Good knowledge and experience of supporting Windows, Linux, Unix, VMware environments with QA/validation skills • Effective written communication amongst fellow team members and project teams • Effective verbal communication amongst fellow team members and project teams Professional Competencies: • Analytical Skills • Decision Making • Applications Support • Infrastructure/Platforms • Complexity/Problem Solving • Technical Communication • Application Development • Telecommunications Network • Database Design and Management Additional Information: • Effective management of own time to meet long term objectives • Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to business people • Work well both independently or as a member of a team • Self starter, ability work with little management intervention • This position is at the SITA Cumberland location Many Thanks Rakesh 770-257-9065 [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Open Source J2EE frameworks" group.
