5 years experience as primarily an Oracle DBA supporting a large and complex environment. Sql Server and/or Sybase as secondary skill is a plus. Solid and proven skills in managing database lifecycles especially builds, patching, backups, recoveries. Strong familiarity with industry-standard monitoring, backup, and security tools. Activities include: Participation in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 database support may be required – not currently in place. Monitor incident ticket queue and troubleshoot and resolve database incidents within SLAs. Occasional weekend and weeknight work. Monitor backup results and resolve/troubleshoot failed database backups. Apply database security patches. Apply database maintenance patches and upgrade databases to supported release levels. Perform new builds as required by discretionary projects. Represent the database team on various customer project initiatives as a subject matter expert (SME). Support application development teams in their database requirements.
