*Position: WebSphere Administrator* *Location: Washington DC* *Duration: 1 Year Contract* * * *Qualifications:* *This is a WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Administrator position.* ** ** *Responsibilities: * Coordinates and implements builds and application deployments for WebSphere applications on a scheduled basis; monitors performance of critical system applications and resolves operational problems in accordance with corporate guidelines; assists application development staff with the architecture and development of WebSphere and MQ Series ecommerce applications; installs and maintains WebSphere and related software on UNIX and Windows platforms; manages WebSphere configurations. Some of these activities must be performed outside normal business hours and on weekends to minimize the impact to our customers. There are 24x7 on-call responsibilities.**** ** ** *This position requires:* **· **extensive WebSphere Application Server Administration experience using WebSphere versions 7.0.x, 8.0.x, and 8.5.x in multi-node, clustered UNIX (AIX) and Windows environments.**** **· **understanding of MQ Series and JMS administration in support of a WebSphere Application Server infrastructure.**** **· **understanding of Security and JDBC configurations.**** **· **experience troubleshooting and resolving problems related to WebSphere applications, HTTP, and general ecommerce infrastructure anomalies.**** **· **advanced UNIX skills. Candidates must be capable of completing administration tasks without GUI toolsets.**** **· **excellent oral and written communication skills**** **· **providing support outside normal office hours (8:00 am to 5:00 pm), including weekends and holidays**** ** ** *Requirements: * **· **This position requires a BA/BS in Computer Science and 3-5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer.
