Job Title: Technical Writer With Dita Exp Location: Houston, TX *(Local to TX Only)* Duration: 6+ Months Contract to Hire *EAD, GC, US Citizen Only!* Qualification Skills: REQUIRED: Strong written communication skills; fluency in DITA content management, publishing and editing technologies; an advanced knowledge of DITA content management industry standards and changing DITA content management technologies. PREFERRED: Ability to provide documentation samples considered a plus. REQUIRED: Expert using Microsoft Office, XML and DITA; expert knowledge of CSS and ability to create and edit XSLT style sheets without supervision PREFERRED: Proficiency with MadCap Flare or Oxygen XML Editor a plus. REQUIRED: Working knowledge of PC applications, Internet browsers and data processing functions; demonstrated ability to develop software expertise quickly; familiarity with software development life cycles and use of defect databases REQUIRED: Ability to prioritize and handle a multiple assignments under tight deadlines; must be able to balance creativity and practicality in work product; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. REQUIRED: Excellent interpersonal communication skills essential; good listening skills; problem-solving and the ability to handle multiple projects/clients at once is necessary; the ability to negotiate delivery timelines, handle objections and counter professionally is necessary REQUIRED: Strong customer service focus; advanced analytical and problem solving skills; strong project management and organizational skills; strong leadership skills including coaching and guiding. Experience with XBRL, corporate financial reporting practices and US-GAAP accounting a plus. Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field preferred. Top 3 Skills: Have to be very experienced - able to produce a DITA help system with a variety of software with the DITA open toolkit (not looking to train on DITA, would actually prefer the person to train them on DITA) Have to be able to own the production of the Help System - they will be a writing team of 1.
