Title: Web Application Administrator Location: New york, NY Duration: 11 Months Job Requirements: Below are the duties and responsibilities in detail: * Provide first level monitoring and management of all web applications and related infrastructure. Monitor third-party web applications - Day-to-day web applications management and support tasks; installation, upgrade, and maintenance of the third-party web application such as RedDot - content management, webmetrics/webtrends - log management, FAST/Google - site search functionality, WebInspect - website security scan, TRIM, etc.. applications. * Provide support for third-party web services such as Content Caching, Lyris, vBulletin, etc.. and their components. Monitor and manage third-party databases used by web applications/services - Installation, upgrade, and maintenance of MySQL; support monitoring of RedDot application database (RDBMS used Oracle). * Monitor and manage the OS for the web application, TRIM, and SharePoint Servers - Work with ITSS-Ops to support roll-out of OS patches, security management, space management, etc.. * Resolve any technical issues with any of the web (Internet/Intranet) application/tools/architecture/infrastructure to ensure system availability, performance, and other services level agreements are met.Prepare documentation, update procedures and processes as necessary. * Assist the SharePoint Administrator with SharePoint application installation, upgrade, monitoring, and maintenance projects. * Research, investigate, and test of new web technology and tools. Document and present all findings and recommendations for future implementations. * Assist the IT Officer in planning and work with ITSS-Ops to roll-out all the software and hardware migration for the web environment. * Assist the IT Officer, Internet and Assistant IT Officer with the overall monitoring of the client's web infrastructure. The skills and experience required for this assignment are: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or at least 2 - 4 years of pragmatic professional and technical experience in Internet related environment. * Proficiency with Apache, Helix, MySQL administration. * Working knowledge of IIS and SharePoint. * Hands-on good experience of UNIX (HP-UX, Solaris), Linux and wintel platform; strong understanding of UNIX security and vulnerability assessments; UNIX command-line proficiency; ability to understand and write shell scripts. * Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with an obsessive attention to detail. * Working knowledge of intermediate HTML, CSS, Javascript, Perl, PHP. * Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. * Good verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work in a team environment. * Fluency in English is essential.
