Project Manager directs controls, administers, and regulates an enhancement or development program. PM3 - NOTE: This position requires 20% travel to different counties in the State. Travel expenses are not reimbursed by the State. Years of Relevant Experience: 7 plus years Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study Good oral and verbal communication skills and the ability to present in both technical and non-technical terms. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases and/or programming in C#, C++, Java. Role Description: * Act a liaison between COTS vendor and internal business users. * Works with project stakeholders to identify project scope of work documents and project plans that include an analysis of benefit, cost, work schedule and any related risks. * Reviews/gathers status reports and input by project team and modifies schedules or plans as required as well as provides status updates to Deputy Director of IT on a routine basis. * Monitors project work to ensure that progress is within expected guidelines and is completed on time. Quickly identify and report on obstacles/impediments to the project. * Coordinate efforts of internal IT staff relating to the project including but not limited to Database Administrator, Network Infrastructure Team and Web Developers. * Oversees User Acceptance Testing execution and remediation of issues. * Manages changes to project scope, schedule using appropriate validation techniques to keep the project plan accurate, updated and reflective of authorized project changes. Facilitates client acceptance of changes and their impact. * Formalizes final acceptance and closure for the project based on satisfactory achievement of outcomes from the sponsor/client.
