Looking for a LINUX Systems Engineer with strong Virtualization background
to be involved with the setting up of their new upgraded Oracle R12
environment globally.

The environment includes over 700 physical servers. Role will be
responsible for the configuration, implementation, deployment and
documentation of the RHEL/Unix server environment. Experience and expertise
with Veritas clustering and file systems is required. Experience with
configuring, building and troubleshooting systems for Oracle RAC
environments is required. VMWare experience is a strong plus. Storage and
backup experience is a plus.


*Key Responsibilities: *
The Virtualization and Linux/Unix Engineer position will be responsible for
developing, configuring, installing, and maintaining the Virtualization
infrastructure and Windows server hardware and operating systems in a
multi-platform mission critical environment. This position requires
extensive experience and a high level of technical understanding of the
technology under the scope of the role. This person will be responsible for
daily system maintenance tasks, service delivery, system functionality and
availability and keeping technology current with the industry standards and
best practices. The candidate must have a functional understanding of
disaster recovery between multiple datacenters. Under supervision from the
Director, the Virtualization and Linux/Unix Engineer will participate in
departmental projects by assisting in the development of project plans,
documentation, and performing of project tasks. This person will be
responsible for making recommendations for forecasting the growth of the
Virtualization and Linux/Unix server environments, designing/engineering
recommendations for upgrades, technology shifts and redesigns to stay
current, competitive and provide an optimized backend infrastructure. This
resource will also be required to participate in an on-call support
rotation.

*Essential Job Functions*:

1) Administer Linux/Unix and VMWare based systems and servers, including
changes, break fix, tuning and optimization, builds and security hardening,
etc.
2) Virtualization infrastructure systems management and administration.
3) Incident and Problem Management - responsible for identifying,
isolating, and resolving technical incidents and problems (in the context
of ITIL) for all systems under management
4) Participate in project planning and execution
