A new disease surveillance system has been implemented for four bureaus within the health department. The application is Maven, a J2EE application from Consilience Software, Inc (not the Apache open source project). As part of the application support team, you will split your time between three main tasks: · Application support (issue investigation, replication and resolution) · Application administration and configuration · Programming for application support (JSP, SQL queries, XML mapping) Examples of specific duties include: · Document the status and resolution of each support issue by using issue tracking software (JIRA). · Utilize expert level technical knowledge of the J2EE application, including system architecture, database schema, application specific web services and integration points to resolve support issues. · Learn how to configure application features and understand which portions of the application can be customized through XML configuration files and/or custom Java classes, and which requests must be referred to the vendor for a core product change. · Assist in the development, deployment, and testing of enhancements, and testing of new core product releases from the application vendor. · Be the point of contact for user configuration, technical assistance and feature requests. *THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS MANDATORY:* Java toolkit (Ant, Tomcat, log4j, hibernate), SQL Subversion *THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS DESIRABLE:* Desirable Skill/Expertise Java 1.5, JSP, XML, Bugzilla or JIRA tracking software, DOS scripting Multi-tasking, good communications skills, problem solving.
