For further details please contact me at (650) 425 7342 * *Please send me the resumes to **[email protected]* <[email protected]> Role: QA Engineer Duration: 6+ Months Location: Emeryville, CA Rate : $50/Hr C2C MAX *Required Skills: * The Sr. QA Engineer is responsible for developing effective test plans, developing and executing test cases to verify functionality, security, and over all usability. The Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer will work closely with software developers and other QA engineers in small scrum teams to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner. Essential Duties And Responsibilities: * Review Product requirement Documents (PRDs)/Stories, transform these into test plans and implement these into test cases for testing of applications developed at Mobi TV. * Drive full QA lifecycle for handsets, STBs and browsers during testing, and product support phases. * Validate and test; streaming and downloadable multimedia content (Video and Audio) on supported platforms. * Involve in review of all test plans and test cases done within the client test group. * Participate in continuous improvement of QA lifecycle to shorten the test lifecycle of all applications on mobile handsets and supported platforms. * Interface with other internal test teams to support MobiTV applications for international markets. * Mentor and train other QA team members on testing tools, processes and test methodologies. * Research, learn and implement new technologies and algorithms related to mobile software systems and applications. Background/Experience: * Position requires a Masters or Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. * At least 4 to 6 years experience in software testing. * Must have prior working experience on mobile (streaming) applications and web applications. Necessary Skills/Attributes: * Should have a strong knowledge of wireless telephony services and applications. * Hands on experience working with audio formats, video formats, AV trans coding technology, and hardware configuration. * Prior experience working with Android and iOS platforms. * Familiar with using Linux/Unix environments, reading log files and creating simple scripts. * Experience creating test plans and test specifications based on requirement and design documents. * Knowledge of agile scrum development lifecycles and how they pertain to Quality Assurance needs. * Possess at least two years of test automation experience. * Strong scripting skills in Javascript, Python is required. * Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple engineering development assignments and projects. * Strong trouble shooting skills in a complex system. * Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail. * Highly self-motivated team player with problem solving capability. Additional Skills/Attributes: * Hands on experience in developing, integrating and troubleshooting mobile handset applications will be a big plus. * Familiar with networking protocols (TCP/IP) and HTTP protocol. Can read protocol logs (Ethereal, tcpdump) * Familiar with Streaming Protocols (RTP, RTSP, RTCP), Streaming Servers (Darwin, Windows Media Server, Real). * Be willing and available to travel based on business needs.
