*DESCRIPTION:* Role : Release Manager Location : Phoenix,AZ Start Date : ASAP Duration : 12 Months No of Positions: *3* *Job Description:* The Release Manager is the focal point for managing, communicating and strategizing application and infrastructure releases. The Release Manager's responsibilities will include planning, developing, coordinating and leading release activities with Engineering, Quality, Project Management, Operations, Product and Support teams. This person will lead the successful deployment of releases to QA, Staging and Production environments. The Release Manager will act as the gatekeeper in facilitating all agreed entry/exit criteria and process checkpoints are satisfactorily negotiated and received. In addition, this individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the support groups on issues related to the testing and deployment of business-critical information and applications. *Specific responsibilities:* Technical PM experience is preferred of 5 or more years. Engage with projects in early phases of the development life cycle to ensure alignment with the overall release schedules and corresponding demand management. Define and formulate releases and ensure alignment to established software development processes in an effort to meet business needs. Define,track, and manage release content and schedules - A comprehensive plan that integrates all the inputs and outputs of release planning activities. This includes the creation of release plans with dependencies. Lead and provide direction to all affected teams to ensure software release activities are managed and coordinated accordingly. Schedule and facilitate release planning and status meetings to review changes to releases and/or resolve items of intense or moderate concern. Schedule and manage environments and appropriately allocate environment resources based on priority Develop risk management mitigation (prioritization) when support teams are faced with schedule/ budget /resource constraints. Responsible for planning, coordinating and leading of production readiness meetings for all software releases and secure approvals from support teams as well as Senior Management to continue with production deployment. Ensures and collects release specific metrics to define a quality release. Works across the organization to improve and enforce development, testing, release and documentation standards in conjunction with the development life cycle. Ensure deliverables are completed within target time frames and are consistently high-quality. *Experience/Certificates/Education* 1. Overall 12 -15 years of IT Experience. 2. Minimum of 4 -5 years direct experience of release management. 3. Proven experience in overseeing the implementation of application releases to a production environment. 4. Experience with scheduling and managing Development/Integration, QA, Staging and Production environments 5. Direct, hands-on experience with project management tools. 6. Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies. 7. Extensive experience with core software applications. 8. Working knowledge of the Software Development Life cycle 9. Excellent understanding of the organizations goals and objectives. 10. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. 11. Excellent written and oral communication skills. 12. Excellent listening and interpersonal skills. 13. Strong leadership skills. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. 14. Ability to conduct research into application issues and products. 15. Highly self-motivated and directed. 16. Keen attention to detail. 17. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. 18.
