Only GC & USC DESCRIPTION: The QA Engineer function is primarily responsible for the quality assurance of enterprise systems in respect to business functionality, end user performance, incident management and diagnostic troubleshooting. This individual will develop and execute full QA lifecycle test plans coordinating with project teams, system administrators, business stakeholders, technical architects, and systems analysts. It is expected of the QA Engineer to be able to write comprehensive analysis reports that are technically complete yet translatable to business decision makers. Additionally, this role will require competency in handling multiple projects all at various stages in the application development lifecycle. Measures of success in this role include, but are not limited to, satisfactory business usability of IT systems, satisfactory performance from an end user perception, mitigating production issues through rigorous testing and monitoring,exemplary resolution of software defects through strong communication and quick turnaround, and continuous education on best practices of the QA industry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Responsible for ensuring function by design and acceptable performance/availability for complex business applications with global users. • Offer pragmatic analysis in the assessment of application functionality using industry standard tools. • Write comprehensive test procedure sets to develop deeper understanding of all possible scenarios in the real world. • Provide expert advice on where and how application functionality can be improved in any application form end-to-end. • Develop effective test plans in conjunction with appropriate team members to discover performance pitfalls and potential issues when load is introduced to the system. • Expertise in all types of functional testing, such as black box/white box, unit testing, regression testing, smoke testing, exception testing, integration testing, among others. • Expertise in all types of performance testing, such as stress testing, load testing, scalability analysis, network efficacy, database tuning, among others. • Identify bottlenecks in the local, regional, and global networks to mitigate performance issues and provide solutions in each occurrence. • Test a variety of software that includes locally installed apps, web apps, mobile apps, integration apps, and proprietary platforms. • Continuous evaluation of QA testing tools, both used in house and available on the market to maximize ROI. • Research customer usage patterns and identify where optimizations or enhancements can be made to improve user perception. • Develop best practices and propose improvements to overall testing methodology. REQUIREMENTS: • 4+ years of experience in SQA industry • 2+ years of experience in SQA Performance Tuning and Optimization • Experience with enterprise Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and iterative methodology such as Rational Unified Process (RUP) • Knowledge of Atlassian Software Development and Collaboration platforms - JIRA and Confluence in particular. • Strong knowledge of performance modeling in all layers of software applications (includes, but not limited to, OS, software platforms, virtual machines, code optimizations, database tuning, network analysis, and client side programming). • Experience with automated testing using tools such as QTP and Selenium. • Hands-on experience in software development with object orientation and/or web development. • Knowledge of network programming and WAN functionality. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Highly motivated and proactive attitude.
