*Role: **DataStage** ETL Developer/Analyst* *Location: Birmingham, AL* *Duration: 12 plus months and even go longer* *Job Description: * *Primary Responsibilities:* - The Sr. ETL Analyst is responsible for transferring data from the legacy systems to centralized enterprise repositories. - The Sr. ETL Analyst may also be responsible for data validation, data cleansing, data transformation and calculations, as well as writing and scheduling the load jobs. - The Sr. ETL Analyst must understand all the business rules currently existing in the legacy system and insure they are accounted for in the new system. - The Sr. ETL Analyst should have excellent understanding of various business metadata. - Assist with the research for any changes to existing ETL processes and handle the ETL functions for new projects. - The Sr. ETL Analyst is knowledgeable in Data Warehouse concepts such as master data management (MDM), operational data stores (ODS), data marts, fact tables and dimensions. *Summary of Qualifications:* 1. Bachelor degree, preferably in Computer Science, and five (5) years of programming experience or five (5) years of programming experience and three (3) years of relevant business experience 2. Knowledge of programming languages, platforms, and data structures 3. Minimum experience of 3 years with InfoSphere DataStage ETL development. Knowledge of other InfoSphere tools such as Information Analyzer is a plus. 4. Minimum experience of 3 years with DB2 (preferred) or other relational DBMS, including table structure and relationships, and load utilities 5. Knowledge and use of Data Modeling techniques both logical and physical is a plus 6. Working knowledge of COBOL, DB2 and JCL on an IBM MVS mainframe is preferred 7. Experience analyzing customer needs, designing new systems and/or modifying existing systems 8. Healthcare background will be a plus 9. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects 10. Experience in a position interpreting and communicating information orally and written 11. Experience in a position interacting with all levels of staff internal and external 12. Experience in a position requiring the ability to identify and solve problems 13. Experience in a position requiring the ability to organize and prioritize tasks 14.
