Hello Partners, Position: UDB DBA Location: SOMERSET, NJ/ RALEIGH, NC Duration: 6 months
JOB DESCRIPTION : LOOKING FOR UDB DBA ON LUW PLATFORM FOR DB POSITION. • Play an integral part in coordinating work between onsite and offshore team to ensure quality service. • Author standard operating procedure documents and conduct knowledge transfers sessions with the offshore team per customer expectations. • Work with Application Development teams to co-ordinate and deploy and implement SRMs (Service requests) on multiple UDB databases. • Working on Capacity planning of an OLTP and OLAP based environments. • Remediate all support issues by conducting the Root cause analysis and establish a process to fix the gaps. • Building complex very large multi-terabyte UDB databases to industry standard with approved disaster recovery solutions like HADR and SRDF. • Help the team to Perform Installations, Upgrades, Fix Packs, Trouble Shooting, Maintenance, Monitoring, and Performance Tuning on multi-terabyte DB2 UDB databases. • Demonstrate aptitude towards root cause analysis, problem identification and resolution of day-to-day issues. • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders . • Handling ITIL Methodologies like Change, Incident, Problem, Service Management using BMC Remedy, Guide the team to Implement and Maintain High Availability as part of DR strategies like Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, Replication, and Mirroring. • Implementing best practices settings/configurations for the UDB Environment as suggested by IBM , also ability to work closely with IBM to resolve on going issues. • Working on troubleshooting and maintaining Guardium in UDB environments (IBM product). • Assembling and coordinating project staff including on site resources and outsourced resources. • Support for Hardware Software Upgrade (HSR) involving AIX, Storage and UDB Upgrades at the same time. • Performing Database upgrades between multiple versions. • Performing Disaster recovery tests on a regular basis.
