Immediate Need For Sr. VMware Server Administrator - Interview And Start ASAP!! Job Title: Sr. VMware Server Administrator Location: Orlando, FL Duration: 6+ Months *Green Card or US Citizen Only!* Description: VMWARE VCP 5 Server Resource: Client upgrade its VMware server environment from vSphere (ESX) 5.1 to version 5.5. OUC is requesting a contract Senior Server Administrator and Senior Network Engineer to perform the upgrades to two vCenters and all virtual machines, based on VMware best practices (VMware best practices) and OUC’s IT procedures The work will comprise the following general steps: Work with OUC’s project manager, IT Support Center (ITSC) Help Desk staff, and existing Windows Infrastructure & Network (WIN) staff to develop a detailed project plan for upgrading the virtual computing environment; Work with OUC’s project manager to develop & implement a communication plan; Work with OUC’s project manager, WIN staff, and SAN administrator to prepare vCenter and vSphere for the upgrade to version 5.5, including pre-implementation backups (snapshots) of all servers; Install vCenter Single Sign-on (SSO), vSphere Web Client, vCenter Inventory Service, & vCenter Server; Use vMotion and Storage vMotion to move VMs off the hosts to be upgraded in order to minimize any downtime; upgrade the vacated hosts to vSphere 5.5, move VMs back and coordinate with the Application Support staff to test the severs & applications; Continue the process described in Step 4 for all hosts at all (3) data centers ; Document the process and cross-train as needed. The vSphere 5.5 Upgrade should be billed on a time and materials basis (“staff augmentation”). EMC is being asked to perform on-site server administration and network engineering services for the above project. Services will include coordination with the OUC Project Manager, IT Infrastructure Team (server, network, DBAs, SAN, backups, etc.), ITSC, and OUC IT applications support staff.
