1. Supporting and making changes to the mainframe (IBM DB2 and/or Oracle
experience)
2. ETL (DataStage is used but will consider experience with other ETL tools)
3. Unix
Client is looking for someone to support a legacy, which is an extremely
important database platform that they use to write their reports. The ideal
candidate will have strong knowledge with ETL development within BI
reporting tools. Knowledge of reporting solutions like Crystal and Business
Objects is a plus.
We are backfilling an FTE who left for another opportunity. At this point,
they do not feel a need to turn this into a full time role, because the
platform will eventually be retired. This person left the role 5 to 6 weeks
ago and it is a big hole in their IT support, so they will be motivated to
move quickly.
Business casual, cube setting. Quiet, laid back environment.
30 minute phone screening to in-person with peer and hiring manager
Critical function for the 500 users querying
End user contact
Quite a bit of autonomy
Chance to gain experience with BI, Business Objects
Some flexibility to work remote
Covers full range of business functions
Someone who can work independently.
