(mid-town) · No telecommuting is allowed for contractor positions · On-call is performed by every member of the team 1-2 weeks per year and each member is also required to be available other times for possible contact by team members regarding troubleshooting needs; one can perform on-call duties from a remote location · The candidate needs more than basic troubleshooting of VMWare; needs experience to be in building within the VMWare suite; deploying hardware and building clusters · Candidate must have 5 – 7 years of experience · The initial contract states 6 months and it is highly likely that it will be more than 12 months *Position: EWS Wintel Infrastructure Engineer (Contract position)* Norfolk Southern Corporation is seeking resumes for a Windows Server Infrastructure Engineer with strong virtualization skills to design, deploy, and support secure, supportable virtual infrastructure architectures for intranet and DMZ servers. In addition the candidate must be well rounded, possess maturity, vision, and a depth of experience that allows for grasping of issues quickly and making educated, critical judgments and decisions in the absence of complete information. This candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced 24x7 environment with on-call duties as required and must possess the ability to work with a diverse, high performance team. This contract position opportunity is an initial period of 6 months beginning immediately.
