*1.2*         *Job Description*

Client seeks an Exchange Systems Engineer which will report to the Manager
of Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration Services with the broadest scope
for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment.  The candidate
selected will be expected to serve as an Email Systems Administrator
responsible for projects which configure, install and provide ongoing
service, maintenance, troubleshooting and technical support for Exchange
2010 and Active Directory on a 24/7 basis. S/he will provide technical
assistance and guidance with a team of Email Administrators in the
performance of support activities for internet and intranet environments
which serve more than 180,000 users city-wide. Additionally, s/he will
participate in large-scale enterprise server infrastructure operational
support.



*Duties and Responsibilities:*



·          Assists Level 2/3 Exchange engineers through problem isolation
and the resolution of email related issues.

·          Responsible for identifying and investigating Outlook and
Exchange problems and issues each day, performing root cause analysis, and
implementing an action plan for the resolution of problem.

·          Functions as an in-house subject matter expert for EMC data
storage backup and recovery as related to Exchange.

·          Functions as an in-house subject matter expert with regard to
RIM/Blackberry Servers, services and device support.



·          Research and advise of new and upcoming technologies that are
related to e-mail and collaboration.



·          Responsible for proactively monitoring and managing the Exchange
environment on a day to day basis and applying enhancements and/or fixes as
needed or as directed by Senior Exchange Engineers.



·          Develops and updates system administration procedures and works
closely with other IT resources including developers, business analysts,
project analysts, and server operations.



·          Assists, as needed, in the analysis of business requirements and
matches appropriate technology to optimize productivity.



·          Discusses service calls with the DIIT Service Center
representatives and implements and maintains support procedures and
policies to ensure customer satisfaction and business results.



·          Utilizes analytical skills and knowledge of software development
lifecycle methodologies to ensure overall hardware and software technical
support services for Outlook and Exchange 2010/2013 servers in a clustered
environment.



·          Locates and performs restorations of individual email accounts
from the Storage Area Network (SAN).



·          Week end work as well as responding to emergency calls in the
evenings and on holidays.





*Qualification Requirements:*



*Minimum:*

A minimum of 6 years software/hardware technical support experience in
large government / public Infrastructures supporting Microsoft Directory
Services and Exchange 2010 in Microsoft Windows 2007 environments.



In addition to meeting the minimum Qualification Requirements, incumbents
may be required to update existing and/or obtain additional
professional industry-standard
certification(s) for current and future technical environment(s) in which they
may be assigned to work, as determined by the employing agency.



*Preferred:*

·          *10 years’ experience working on Microsoft technology,
specifically, Exchange 2010 in a secure clustered environment.*



·          Must have Active Directory design experience in large scale
environments and in various migration scenarios including Active Directory
and Exchange 2010.



·          Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).



·          Must have experience working with different Microsoft technical
support teams (Premier, PSS, and MCS) and be familiar with escalation
procedures.



·          Experience working with Microsoft product teams in large and
unique infrastructures that required product team support/involvement.



·          Must understand the concepts of the Microsoft Operations
Framework.



·          Working knowledge of DNS, WINS and DHCP.



·          Expertise on Microsoft authentication/authorization models and
impact on performance, scalability and security.



·          Exchange 2010 messaging experience including installing,
configuring and supporting Lync.



·          Must have experience defining user accounts, security groups,
monitoring security, controlling and authenticating user certificates, and
supporting user authentication & passwords.
