We are looking for a *Mid-Level Storage Engineer **with one of our Direct client at GA* Send all your consultant profiles to* [email protected] <[email protected]>* *Title : Mid-Level Storage Engineer* *Duration : 6+ Months* *Location : Norcross, GA* *Interview : Telephone and In-person* *Position Purpose: * The Storage Engineer is responsible for the installation, implementation, and ongoing management of a fast-growing, complex storage area network environment. This position reports to the Professional Services Manager and is part of a Professional Services Engineering team that works closely with other engineering teams to provide technical support for all storage management-related activities. This individual may also act as a liaison to other departments, representing the storage team on all technical matters related to storage management. This position requires background in SAN & NAS management with a demonstrated ability to implement solutions, manage change, and provision storage in a large-scale, mission-critical, multi-PB storage environment. *Essential Job Responsibilities: * · Management, maintenance, and implementation of data storage solutions, utilizing EMC Symmetrix/DMX/VMAX and Clariion arrays. · Ability to apply knowledge of SAN fabric architecture (Cisco, Brocade, McData) and sound technology architecture principles to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions. · SAN switch technology management, storage provisioning, LUN masking, zoning, performance management, and volume management. · Management, maintenance, and implementation of EMC NAS architecture. · Management, maintenance and implementation of FAST-VP. · New technology awareness and research skills are necessary. · Installation, configuration, and ongoing operation of key EMC Software products such as Control Center, PowerPath, Unisphere, SRDF, and TimeFinder. · 24x7 operations support and on-call support responsibilities. · Ability to work on project teams, delivering on key project milestones, and communicating effectively with a wide variety of people. · Participation in Disaster Recovery infrastructure planning, building, and testing. · Experience with large storage environments (3PB+). *Education: * Bachelor s degree highly preferred or high school diploma with 7+ years relevant work experience. *Job Related Experience: * · Minimum 4-6 years of experience required. · This position requires technical background in industry standard (SAN and NAS) storage technologies, with the proven capability to implement and complex environments. · A working knowledge of EMC tools is required (ECC, Connectrix Manager, SRDF, SRDF/A, TimeFinder). · Experience with the EMC Isilon, Clariion, Symmetrix family of storage products is also a must. · Experience in an e-commerce environment is desired, as is a working knowledge of networking protocols and components. · Additional Skills/Knowledge: · Able to display high-level technical competency during all phases of solution implementation and in supporting the solution through transitions. · Strong written and oral communication skills. · Able to apply customer service and analytical skills in an IT environment. · Effective time management skills. · Excellent people skills. · Project management and excellent troubleshooting skills are required. · Experience in SAN performance, tuning, and capacity planning · Experience with proactive monitoring and automation · Experience with mainframe storage replication a plus. · Experience with the management and maintenance of backup solutions.
