Job Description: There are several projects that need to be completed. All of the tools will be built using Microsoft’s Visual Studio tool chain. The first project is to update an existing PC application that is currently running on Windows XP to Windows 7. This application runs a production test stand and interfaces with various types of I/O cards (analog, digital, CAN cards, etc). The original application was developed in C# and many of the libraries will need to be updated to support new hardware and drivers that are required for the Windows 7 upgrade. The second project is to develop a SQL database that interfaces with all of our production tests. Each of our production tests produces a set of data that needs to be tracked, stored, and cross referenced. A database needs to be structured and all of the PC applications need to be updated to access the database. A front end to the database will also need to be developed to allow for easy access to all of the data. The third project is an application that needs to be developed to support production of one of our advanced products. This tool will be used by our production facility and requires a very simple user interface for the operators. Functionally, the tool is used to configure, store, and retrieve data from a database (the database described above) that is used by the product. The tool will interface with I/O cards that are used to control various hardware (like power supplies) and will communicate to our product through a CAN bus interface.
