Duration: 6-12 Months Interview : Tele+ F2F The Role: Bloomberg's DBA team is looking to add to their current talent a self-motivated, highly-experienced MY SQL Database Administrator. The DBA team is responsible for tasks such as project management, development of best practices and repeatable procedures for deploying databases, day-to-day operational activities including break/fix, capacity management, backup and recovery, database replication setup/management and ongoing database change reviews. The team also builds and maintains large-scale and very high transactional MY SQL databases on Linux platform. Join MY SQL DBA team in a fast paced, rapidly growing MY SQL environment with growth opportunities and freedom to help set direction for overall firm database infrastructure. *Responsibilities:* Managing large scale MY SQL databases Managing high transactional MYSQL databases servicing OLTP and DSS applications Solid understanding of MYSQL internal architecture, demonstrated experience with MySQL database design, implementation, performance tuning, and capacity planning. Project management and customer interaction Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience with enterprise backup and recovery strategies Experience in database software management (patch and version management) Good scripting ability and good working knowledge of Shell Scripts, Perl or Python. *Qualifications:* Demonstrated experience with Open Source/Linux development and production environments Hands on experience with designing and implementing database replication strategies Experience in designing and automating repetitive processes 5 years plus working with MySQL technology.
