Duration: 6Months Visa: H1/EAD/GC/Citizens Interview: Tele+ Face to Face The Role: This Enterprise Content & Delivery programming team is responsible for building high-performing distributed systems that manage large volumes of client data. We work with multiple groups within Client to gather millions of data points per day, and develop tools to transform and store the data in an efficient manner for trend analysis, billing and business intelligence. In order to meet the demands of the massive amount of data we collect, and the complexity of algorithms that operate on the data, we have embarked on the journey to evaluate and implement a solution using Hadoop. We are looking for individuals with extensive hands-on experience in Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop, HBase, and Hive that can provide technical direction for architecting a new big data system. The vision is to build a reliable and scalable data platform with standard interfaces that will be used to query and support analytics for our data sets. The ideal candidate has a thorough understanding of the challenges with current systems and will assist with architecting next generation systems that are transparent, accessible and can be maintained by others. Responsibilities: • Lead the effort on migrating to a new Big Data platform • Provide training to other members of the group on various Big Data technologies • Work with other groups within the organization to set up and configure big data clusters and assist with data volumetric as well as hardware and software needs • Research, suggest and assist in building tools that can be utilized to analyze the data by internal users and support staff • Maintain systems as they are up and running Qualifications: • Have a passion for Big Data technologies and a flexible, creative approach to problem solving • Proven experience with a range of big data architectures, including Hadoop, Pig, Hive or other big data frameworks • Minimum 3+ years of current C++ or Java development experience • Experience building large scale distributed data processing systems • Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms & Object-Oriented design concepts • Proficiency with relational database / SQL development • Excellent communication skills Other desirable skills: • Advanced SQL query writing and optimization is a strong plus • Experience with scripting languages, such as Perl/Python • Working knowledge of development tools such as debuggers, memory profilers, and performance measurement -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Open Source J2EE frameworks" group.
