SQL Server knowledge* * a. Writing complicated queries for performing data analysis* 1. Candidate should be able to use various joins and sub queries 2. Should be able to analyze huge volume of data from multiple servers, databases, tables and understand the data flow * b. Understanding stored procedures* 1. Able to review the code and understand/troubleshoot the business logic 2. Able to write SQL Scripts to identify and automate Manual & Administrative tasks * c. Performance Analysis* 1. Use SQL Profiler, Perfmon tools to diagnose issues 2. Able understand the indexes used by the query and tune the query performance 3. Use SQL server DMVs to analyze the SQL server internals and use it for tuning CPU/Memory/Disk bottlenecks * d. Perform data import/export from XLS/Text files to database tables, vice versa* * e. Database Maintenance* 1. Experience with database backup, restore, DBCCs and re-indexing * f. Experience with SQL Server Cluster installation & Administration* * g. Experience with SQL Server Replication, Mirroring and Log shipping and able to troubleshoot* * h. SSIS package fundamentals* 1. High level understanding of SSIS packages 2. Able to open the existing SSIS package and understand the work flow. *i. SSRS Administration (Some exposure)* *2. System knowledge* a. Experience on Windows 2008 Server Administration b. Experience on Windows Failover Cluster (aka MSCS cluster) & Administration c. Knowledge of SAN storage and configurations *3. Application knowledge* a.
