*Preferred Education:* 4 year college degree in Information Technology
field, or a two year degree and five years’ experience

The Product Specialist will support DelDOT's DTC applications including
Computer Aided Dispatch and Automated Vehicle Locator (CAD/AVL), Bus
Scheduling, Trapeze Routing Analysis, Fleetwatch/Gasboy fueling systems and
GFI fare collection systems.

   -

   A qualified resource will have significant past experience in *supporting
   applications* that require* extensive PL/SQL and Oracle database
   development*.  Data associated with GIS is also important, but not
   necessary.
   -

   Qualified resource will need to be able to evaluate Transit products and
   compare functionality to real world applications and operational
   requirements.
   -

   As a Product Specialist it is important that the applicant *provide high
   end systems analysis,* in order to align with business processes.  This
   analysis will include *database statistics and analysis*.
   -

   Transit systems require extensive application of *mapping data, GPS
   coordination, timing analysis, and multi-system interoperability*.
   -

   This position also requires *extensive testing and documentation*
   coupled with *system upgrades* and new system implementations.
   -

   Respondent should possess the ability to evaluate and suggest new
   products or reports that will enhance the day to day operation.
   -

   This position has additional duties as assigned by the Project Lead and
   Staff Managers. Supporting other DelDOT sections or systems that may not
   pertain directly to Transit is possible.



*Role Description:*

   -

   Actively contribute as an expert or actual designer.
   -

   Coordinate product design reviews to verify that design meets quality
   standards and functional/technical requirements.
   -

   Provide accurate estimates for design and programming efforts for system
   changes and enhancements.
   -

   Coordinate enhancements to business and logical data models with data
   base administration to make the appropriate changes to the physical data
   model.
   -

   Confirm that technical architecture will support all changes required by
   product enhancements.
   -

   Effectively lead product tests and trials.
   -

   Identify appropriate business examples to illustrate key concepts /
   features.
   -

   Anticipate, identify, track and resolve issues and risks affecting own
   work and work of the Application Team.  Develop contingency plans as
   necessary.
   -

   Apply specific expertise to ensure that products meet defined customer
   objectives.
   -

   Anticipate and resolve issues specific to the team.
   -

   Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in
   a timely manner.
   -

   Identify and track issues, risks and action items.
