Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT- related discipline or equivalent experience

• 7+ years database development / administration experience

• Expert knowledge of MS SQL Server administration and implementation

• Expert-level knowledge of T-SQL & Power Shell

• Experience managing Oracle 10g or 11g databases

• Strong Windows Server knowledge and experience

• Strong understanding of database architecture including processes,
structures

• Strong understanding and experience with HA and DR solutions

• Ability to write clear documentation of operating procedures, and ability
to write specifications for applications to be developed Desired Skills and



Experience:

• SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014

• Oracle 10g, 11g

• Windows Server 2008, 2012

• Microsoft Certifications

• Experience in a medium to large company

• Experience supporting MS Lync & SharePoint application databases

• AWS

• Nagios

• Linux & Shell Scripting



Job Description:



The Sr. DBA will be tasked with extending the Database Services Team's
service catalog for MS SQL Server. This includes establishing best
practices, building monitoring & backup infrastructure and leading the
adoption of new MS / SQL Server technologies. Sr. DBA will also manage and
maintain in-house SQL Server and Oracle Databases.



The Sr. DBA will report to the Sr. Manager of Database Services.



Responsibilities:

• Research and development for new SQL Server technologies (to include
Database - Monitoring, Disaster Recovery, High Availability and

Backup)

• Production Support for deployed SQL Server Applications

• Responsible for supporting the SQL Server and Oracle databases and
ensuring their performance, availability and security

• Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with
minimum downtime

• Database Maintenance including patching, rollouts and upgrades • Testing,
implementation and release of configurations changes

• Provide technical and software support to developers and end-users

• Install, configure, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade RDBMS
software while ensuring its optimal performance

• Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion • Maintain
working knowledge of products and/or services

• Prepare reports, metrics and correspondence as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned
