Job Description: · The Server Administrator will assist in defining and executing operational procedures for the installation, configuration, and administration of Enterprise Infrastructure hardware and software (Network, Storage, Server Platforms). Assists in the implementation and documentation of all configuration changes. Provides status reporting (availability, performance, capacity utilization) as required. Participates in root cause analysis for significant problems and suggests clear recommendations for improvements · This person would be working on our team (Server Administration) but with a heavy application administration focus. Helping us figure out new acquisition applications, getting them migrated to our client’s standards/datacenter. · Person should know/understand/be proficient in MySql · Save a good knowledge of various application technologies · Apache/Tomcat · Jboss · Java applications knowledge · Linux system administration New System Initiatives, Updates and Patches Participates in the technical deployment for new system initiatives, beginning at the business requirements stage, to determine and deliver the technical components necessary to build and deploy the new system. Ensures that technical and architectural requirements are incorporated appropriately within new system initiatives Participates in technology evaluation, selection, integration, and implementation of new system architectures, tools and techniques Maintain system software & firmware updates and patches Relationship Management Works with service providers to maintain current implementations of hardware, software, and data/voice/video circuits to ensure the maximum performance and availability. Develops and maintains effective working relations with users, vendors, and other department personnel. Tool and Task Management • Work with Development and QA Teams in an agile environment including but not limited to: attending daily stand ups, all product meetings and involvement with tasks on the development board. Utilizes technology domain specific and enterprise level tools to assess performance metrics and provide resource utilization data to system and application stakeholders. Disaster Recovery Implement disaster recovery procedures (e.g. failover & data replication) Required skills and experience: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) required Experience in the installation, configuration, and administration of Enterprise Infrastructure hardware and software (Network, Storage, Server Platforms).
