Client is looking for SAS Admin

Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have administration, maintenance, and support
experience in a both SAS 9.3 and SAS 9.2 Enterprise BI Linux Server and
Windows client environments.  The candidate will support both the Linux
server and the Windows clients and the installation and maintenance of PC
SAS as well.  Candidate will possess a clear understanding of the SAS 9.x
security models internally and its interaction with the Linux side
components so tactical and strategic objectives can be achieved and
maintained.  PC SAS, SAS Scorecard, AML/ECM, and opRisk products experience
on Linux is a plus.  Ideal candidate will have be able to design and
implement the expansion of SAS in the Enterprise.  Strong analytical,
communication, technical teamwork, and interpersonal skills are mandatory.
Strong Unix/Linux skills (shell/perl/java) to support scripts and
automation are also required.

DETAILS
Major responsibilities include:
• Installing, and configuring the SAS Enterprise BI Infrastructure
• Performing/Insuring proper backups of metadata and business data
• Tracking applicable SAS hot fixes and creating implementation plans for
respective SAS modules and applications
• Monitoring SAS Server resources and reporting usage(s)
• Identifying performance and recommending/implementing tuning of active
SAS environment(s) providing projected capacity shortfalls.
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining security on SAS Metadata and
Linux for users
• Designing, implementing, and executing the change control and promotions
tasks in SAS
• Establishing best practices and guidelines for SAS BI usage
• Provide guidance and assistance to SAS Developers on operational and
technical issues; interfacing with the SAS Institute for Support on
administrative and system issues
• Creating and implementing upgrade plans
• Occasional after hour support when system OS and hardware maintenance and
applying SAS hot fixes and upgrades occur.
• May require non-standard shifts to support offshore modelling efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• A Bachelor's Degree and seven years of related experience and/or training
or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working experience in different server components including SAS Metadata
Server, Workspace Server, Stored Process Server, and OLAP Server
• Working experience with applications including SAS Management Console,
SAS Enterprise Guide, Enterprise Miner, BI Studio, SAS Information Delivery
Portal, and SAS Web Report Studio
• Experience in installing, configuring, and administering SAS BI platform
in a single instance, multi-configuration installation with isolation via
OS groups
• Moderate Linux skills including Shell, PERL and other OS scripting
languages
• Experience in designing and implementing change control and security with
the SAS Platform including Metadata and UNIX security
• Knowledge of SAS architecture, vertical and horizontal expansion and
configuration options

Preferred
• Experience with LDAP or Microsoft Active Directory integration within
UNIX/Linux and Mid-tier components a plus
• Experience in SAS programming, Enterprise guide, and Enterprise Miner
troubleshooting is a plus
• Scripting updates to SAS Metadata a plus
• Working knowledge of Job Scheduling (Autosys) a plus
