Supports the design, analysis, development, and implementation of engineering infrastructure solutions of projects and / or work requests for complex business solutions. Troubleshoots and proceeds on resolving infrastructure compatibility issues based on system architecture, project requirements, and customer expectations. Leads the design and development of application utility programs. Assists the Director of Infrastructure and Operations with the development and implementation of the applications infrastructure roadmap. Knowledge of: SAN (EMC), Websphere Application Server (WAS), VMware, Linux environments, Shell Scripting, Apache, Networking and Network Concepts, IIS Web servers, PGP, SharePoint, Database Concepts *RESPONSIBILITIES:* - Designs, engineers develops and administrates technology solutions to support the company’s business applications. These applications include POS, Labor Scheduling, Planning, Allocation, Logistics, eCommerce, Data Warehouse, Merchandise, Financial, Intranet, Portal, HCM, etc. as well as the technical tools utilized by developers and infrastructure personnel. - Assists with the creation and leads the implementation of the applications infrastructure roadmaps including dependencies, budgets, and resources. - Implements the infrastructure and IT processes in relation to the application platforms to ensure that we are compliant to regulations including, but not limited to, SOX, PCI and HIPPA. - Design and implementation of high availability, disaster recovery, and virtualization solutions. - Conduct risk assessments and make recommendations to reduce or eliminate these risks. - Diagnosis and correction of application and server problems. Serves as level 3 escalation and coordination point on application infrastructure issues. - Defines engagement and operational models for the supported applications and tools to ensure consistency in day to day activity and project methodology. - Collect learnings and translate them into best practices that are implemented to ensure continuous improvement. - Leads project teams, working effectively with cross functional partners (IT, business, and vendors) to deliver high quality solutions that leverage multiple technologies and enable business users. - Manages vendors and negotiates pricing. - Effectively communicate technical directions in both written and verbal methods - Maintain an understanding of the tools, technical environment, and business processes necessary to monitor and evaluate the system implementations for trends that could impact business operations.
