They have an opening for a UI Developer, please find the position details below - UI Developer San Carlos, CA *Position Type * Long Term Contract Must do Onsite *About Education Elements* Our Client is on a mission to transform the k-12 education system as we know it and to change the lives of 55 million students. They work with public, charter and independent schools to give students the personalized learning experience they deserve. We sit down and talk to teachers and school leaders. They listen to what’s working and what’s not. They brainstorm, research, sketch, design, spec, code and coach. They do all of this to develop new instructional models that work in real classrooms and a platform that ties together the best in teaching and technology. *Responsibilities:* - Transform our UI designs into awesome looking web pages with HTML/CSS/JavaScript - Collaborate with design and development teams to create engaging web experiences - Establish and enforce a standards and style guide to be used across the product - Create prototypes and proofs of concept from brainstorm sessions with designers - Build backend code to support the new functionality *Requirements:* - Strong knowledge of Java and some of its popular frameworks - Spring, Hibernate, JPA, JMS. - Expert level knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Solid experience using at least one of the following JS frameworks - JQuery, YUI, Angular, Node, or Backbone. - Demonstrable experience with OAuth and RESTful APIs - Strong RDBMS knowledge and SQL skills. We use MySQL. Please make sure you know the difference between inner and outer joins as well as how a 'table' is different from a 'view'! - Familiarity with the concept or working knowledge of of NoSQL databases. We use MongoDB - Experience working in Linux environment – RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc. We use MacOS for development and Amazon AWS for QA/Staging/Production - Familiarity with continuous deployment environment and tools (Jenkins, TeamCity) Extra points: - Familiarity with Informatica - Familiarity with messaging systems (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, AWS MQ) - Experience with any test automation framework, preferably Selenium/WebDriver.
