I have a 1+ year long Infrastructure Planning Manager requirement in Boston, MA Will require in person interview Overall: 1. Perform as a member of the Infrastructure Planning Group (IPG), supporting MassIT projects and *initiatives, including Data Center Integration projects, design, planning*, *implementation*, *configuration and troubleshooting* of *technical architecture*. 2. Conduct information technology (IT) assessments and focuses on the strategic direction to support the business vision. 3. Review agency/secretariat project plans and assessment results which will support project objectives; make recommendations and decisions regarding project feasibility, direction and priority. 4. Present results, strategy and status to stakeholders and to upper management as required. *Day to Day Capacity*, all as refined/assigned by the Director of IPG: • Provides analytical and technical solutions for new hosting infrastructure projects, enhancements to existing hosted solutions, data center infrastructure projects and MassIT/Commonwealth strategic infrastructure projects. • Participates as assigned in infrastructure solution designs and reviews using MassIT design process and industry best practices. • Collects and analyzes requirements and translate them into hardware and software capabilities. Detail and document the logical and physical designs as per the IPG methodology, MassIT standards and ETRM (Enterprise Technical Reference Model). • Conducts design walk-throughs for review and sign off. • Liaises and negotiates with vendors on quotes for infrastructure hardware, software and services. • Collaborates with stake-holders to conduct and demonstrate proof-of-concepts for new products and architectures. • Troubleshoots project issues, as appropriate. • Performs capacity planning analysis, assists clients to define technical requirements and assists in engineering solutions in order to provide cost-effective alternatives. • Stays engaged with multiple projects and provides architectural/design oversight for application projects. • Performs occasional travel, weekend and evening/night support, and other related duties, as required. Qualifications: • Minimum *five years of Information Technology experience* with at *least two years of IT technical planning* and *architectural design experience.* • Knowledge and/or certification with respect *to ITIL and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).* • Technically competent in information processing, and ability to gather and *analyze data through interview,* *observation, design workshops* and independent research. • Strong knowledge of computer, *system and network protocols* *and architectures*, especially in *large heterogeneous, client server* environments. • Strong knowledge of and/or experience with *Internet and Intranet Web-based architecture and services*. • Demonstrated success in assessing industry trends and vendor’s competitive offerings as part of the definition of an IT future state and for more near-term technology assessment and selection activities. • Current knowledge/experience with *SAN/NAS/HSM technologies*, *server consolidation strategies*, *high availability and clustering strategies, LAN and WAN technologies,* *security and authentication standards and technologies, and the infrastructure requirements and* approaches for delivering IT services to customers. • Knowledge of *Data Center operations* and *infrastructure*. • Familiarity with IT business practices and ability to interface and integrate with MassIT functional areas. • Demonstrated skills in *analysis and planning, organizational proficiency and good business judgment.* • Proficient with* Microsoft Visio.* Regards: Sam Williams - Recruiting Manager ITBrainiac Inc.
