*Position:  Build & Release Engineer*

*Location:  Fremont, CA*

*Duration:  1 year*



*Summary:* Persistent is looking for a Build Engineer with experience in
building assemblies and developing setup for banking applications. You
should have good knowledge about build and setup engineering. That
knowledge will be used to build setup for Windows and Unix applications.



*Roles & Responsibilities*

·         Build Setup Programs for applications, following build and setup
engineering guidelines, understanding current infrastructure, following
Persistent Best Practices for build and setup, configuring entities and
applications as required, collaborating with technology and QA team.

·         Manage Code Repository by, maintaining code repository in SVN,
perform and administer database baseline, improve practices of branching
and code merge, establish process control points and configure SVN
reporting suite to custom needs of development team.

·         Provide Setup related Assistance by, unit testing of setup on
different environment, debug and fix issues faced by team in installation
of setup, assist QA team in getting the setup tested by providing required
guidelines for setup & deployment, work with Documentation team in
documenting Setup and Deployment process, maintaining the versioning of
assemblies and application as per the builds released.

·         Be part of Agile SCRUM in Persistent by, understanding the Agile
process set in Persistent, follow the process to provide build at end of
sprint cycles required.

·         Improve Setup and Build Process by, automating setup and build
related tasks, reengineering setup for better user experience, leading up
to building a continuous integration system for all our products.



*Skills, Experience and Other Criteria:*

-              5-7+ years of experience as a Build Engineer, with 3+ years
of experience in developing setup applications.

-              At least 1 year of experience working on Autosys.

-              2+ years of experience of developing Setup for Unix based
application.

-              3+ plus years of configuration management and engineering
for large scale applications/projects, ideally supporting an agile
development process

-              Solid Knowledge of RDBMS, preferably with Oracle.

-              Deep understanding of version control systems like SVN (or
similar) and automation of configuration management tasks

-              Experience with Linux environments and scripting languages.

-              Experience with Informatica environments and objects

-              Experience of using tools to integrate best practices like
static code analysis, automated unit tests and integration tests, code
coverage analyzers, creation of sand‐box systems, etc.

-              Ability to automate and speed up build and release process.

-              Good & Effective Communication Skills.

-              Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
while tackling complex problems.

-              Ability to learn and work with cutting edge technologies.

-               The Candidate should be a B.E., MCA or MCM Graduate with
good academic percentages.
