Position :  Linux System Integration Engineer
Location:  Bohemia, NY
Duration : 1 Year Contract

Description:
Integrate software & related technology for client’s airport based IT
systems. The position requires the integration of various technologies
including: RHEL, CentOS, Satellite, Spacewalk, Backup/Restore, Nagios, PHP,
Perl, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
Standardize System Level Architecture
Automate System Implementation
Standardize/Define security architecture regarding patch management,
anti-virus, server hardening, user management, etc...
Extend functionality of Nagios and system administration via scripting
(PHP, Perl, shell scripting, etc.) and database programming
Engineer Disaster Recovery, Back/Restore and other fault tolerance related
product elements
Provide 3rd level support
Evaluate 3rd Party Software and Integrating as needed
Provide feedback to management regarding the requirements for the software
(and related technology) being considered for integration
Evaluate and recommend add-on utilities for system administration and
troubleshooting.
Write documentation for each integration.  (Documentation includes details
such as: Installation, customization, backup, and troubleshooting
information)
Ability to travel worldwide as needed.

Education and training:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information
Systems, Engineering or equivalent technical discipline related to job
description.
Minimum of two years in Linux administration and heavy scripting.
Working knowledge of Nagios
